1980 was probably the pinnacle year for all Star Wars fans. By far it is considered the best film in the 6 Star Wars movies made thus far. Many would say it is one of if not the best genre movie ever. So how much did this Star Wars masterpiece cost to make. It was a teeny $18,000,000. But, that was in 1980's money. When adjusted for inflation, the Empire Strikes back came in at around $55,000,000 in today's money. That would be considered a moderate budget by today's standards and an extremely low budget by Summer blockbuster tent pole movie standards.
