Elementos is a Brilliant Little Game in a Brilliant Little Package

Elementos is like a brilliant game of Chess.  What does it take to learn chess?  About 2 minutes of explanation?  Then how long does it take to become a chess master?  Your whole life!  Elementos has that similar feel to it. 


First, I can not imagine everyone not being immediately drawn to the unique look of this game.  There is a strong relaxing island feel to the game that I just love.  Not to mention the components themselves are pretty amazing. 

There is nothing I like more than a game that comes in a wooden box that is also the game board itself!  Plus, Elementos is actually cool looking.


The gameplay here is super simple, and yet provides each player with enough choices that the game feels like it has just the right amount of strategy.  I would not say it ever reaches the level of analysis paralysis that can happen in a long chess match.  But it definitely reaches a fulfilling amount of strategy that will have you proud to introduce this game to children and adults of all ages. 

All in all, I was very impressed with this cool little game.  I can only hope we are at the beginning of witnessing the birth of a modern abstract strategy classic.
