This is By Far The Best Part of Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel Edition
So I have had the privelege of taking a look at the new Marvel Disney Infinity game for the Wii U and I have to say I was quite impressed! really, let's get the title of this article out of the way first. What do I like the best about the new Marvel line in Disney Infinity? The same thing I liked about the original Disney Infinity: The character sculptures. Is anyone else seeing these things? They are beautiful!
Seriously, what adult Marvel fan would not love to have their favorite Marvel character sitting on their desk at work?
Great art is interpretation. I don't think I would be as impressed if they were exact replica's of the character's from the comics or movies. I just love these cartoonized versions!
Plus, when you feel these little works of art in your hand, they are heavy and solid, which really makes them feel way more important than a silly piece of plastic. And they are! We will talk about the game later, but for now, just applaud with me how great these little guys really are. On a side note: Daredevil, and Deadpool, you will be mine!

Looks to me like one Ultron will not be enough. Did you notice the other ones back behind him? Hope it is not just an Iron Man 2 rip-off!
Marvel's New Director for Dr. Strange Movie Speaks!
In doing an interview recently the new director for the Dr. Strange Marvel movie had this to say (remember he is a horror movie director) :
“I think when you consider the work that I've done it makes sense that he'd be my favorite comic book character, at least in the Marvel universe. Probably the only comic character in that mainstream world that I'm suited to. I feel such an affinity for the character and the story and the ambition of those comics, especially the original Stan Lee and Steve Ditko ‘Strange Tales’ - I think those are my favorite of all of them. The entire history of the comics is extraordinary …
I think the nicest surprise for me, the most unexpected surprise, is the positive reaction. Both to me getting the film - I guess I expected the detractors, and they just haven't been there, it's all been quite positive. More than that, it's just the general enthusiasm for Doctor Strange. I think people who know the comic world and the Marvel universe, they all feel the same way I do, which is, "This is the Marvel movie we're all ready to see now." This movie needs to exist. The outpouring of excitement that people have shown is the thing I've been most pleasantly surprised.”
This is the Mutant that was supposed to have a HUGE role in X-Men Days of Future Past!
Originally, the bad guy mutant Juggernaut was supposed to be the one that broke Magneto out of the Pentagon. That is right, Quicksilver (in my opinion, the best part of the movie) was not going to be in this movie! The above picture was one of the concept illustrations for Juggernaut that was to be used in the film. So glad they went with Quicksilver!
Here is the Main Plot Line for the New Spiderman 2099!
In the 90's, Marvel ran some stories that took place in the year 2099. One of their most popular comics was Spider-man 2099, of course. So, Marvel has decided to bring the webslinger from the future back for another tour! Only this time, there is quite a plot twist. You see, Spider-man from the future will not be living in the future. The new comic will be set in modern day. The New Spider-man 2099 will actually be a fish out of water story where the Spider-man from the future will come back in time to the present day in order to prevent disasters in the future. Since I love time travel, scifi, and fish out of water stories (Back to the Future is perfect!) I think I will enjoy this one! The question is, once the current Spider-man movies run out of gas, will Sony move over to a Spider-man 2099 movie, and if so, wouldn't it make more financial sense to set it in the present day?
Wait. How Did I Miss This Major Marvel Character in Captain America 2?
Not sure how I missed it, but the character aboce, Crossbones was actually in Captain America Winter Soldier! Here is what Frank Grillo (the actor who pleyed him) in a recent interview said about it:
"Very early on the Russos said, ‘Look, this is an origin film for this character. We’re gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we’re gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here’s the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into and blah, blah, blah.’ And so we’ve had multiple discussions about what comes after that, that thing. So, you know, it’s obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he’s still there. They don’t do that for no reason."
Big Marvel news: The Dr. Strange Movie has Landed a Director!
So Marvel has landed a director for the upcoming Dr. Strange movie. The bad news is that the director seems mighty "meh" to me. His name is Scott Derrickson. Ever heard of him? Me niether. His big successes have been the Excorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, and the Day the Earth Stood Still. Wait, what? His big successes? Yes, from a business standpoint these were big successes based off of box office numbers. All of these movies made back waaaaaaay more than their budget. So, I am sure Marvel is seeing some dollar signs and a director that has delved in the scifi supernatural world. Here's hoping this one will be better than his other "successes."
Here is What Captain America's Falcon (Anthony Mackie) is Doing Next!
Make it into a Marvel Movie and you are set! Anthony Mackie is finding this out as his next project has just recieved a huge green light form the studio. What will he be doing? He will be producing and starring (wow) in a bio pic of the Olympic Athelete that took on Hitler: Jessie Owens. I am very interested in seeing this. I am also very interested in my kids getting to see it. I don't know that Anthony MAckie so blew me away in Winter Soldier that I need to see him again, but I am glad someone is taking on this fantastic story about a real life hero!
Goonies Alumni to Play Marvel's Thanos (the big bad guy at the end of the Avengers'credits).
Josh Brolin may have had his hand in some upscale acting movies over the past few years, but he'll always be a Goonie (older brother to Mikey - Brandon Walsh) to me. Rumor has it that he has been cast as the big Baddie Thanos in upcoming Marvel movies. I hope so, because both Thanos and Brandon are way cool. Not to mention we would root for any Goonie - even Mouth (Corey Feldman)!
Here is the Scene Rogue was supposed to have in the New X-Men Movie!
The screen writer explained her deleted scene this way:
"The Rogue/Anna Paquin scene was by far the biggest cut we made, and that was more my fault than anything. When I was crafting the script, I wanted to create a subplot for old Charles and old Eric — Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellen] — to have a mini-mission together, one final adventure. And that’s what the Rogue sequence was — that they went to retrieve Rogue."
He went on to say, "It felt like it didn’t come from the spine of the film, it was an appendage where I just wanted to see the old guys get in the X-Jet for one last ride. It was a narrative detour, and in a film with this much momentum and narrative flow, you can’t afford any detours."
So there you have it. Sounds like it was not really even her scene to lose. Darn! My daughters need more strong female characters!
Here is who will replace Ben Affleck as Daredevil in the New Marvel TV Show
That is right! The love interest from this movie no one saw has been cast as the New Daredevil! His Name is Charlie Cox. Notice he does not even get a credit on the cover of this movie poster? I love Daredevil, so I can only hope he brings great things to the role. However, he wasn't exactly tough or brooding in Stardust. On a side note, Stardust was a pretty decent family flick you may want to check out. Plenty of air pirates and witches and magic and things. Claire danes was great as always, and Robert DeNiro was fun to see as a closet feminine yet outwardly tough ruthless pirate.
