I can't believe it! When Walt Disney finally found major success from his first feature film, Snow White, he bought his mother a home. Good so far. But then, the house had major heating and ventilation problems. So much so, that his mother actually died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Supposedly, Walt felt so horrible about it, this is why so many of Disney's films involve the loss of the main character's mother. So sad.

What?! If you Blinked, You Missed This Huge Toy Story 1 Character in Toy Story 3!
Look closely at the picture above. Do you see the Toy Story 1 Character? It's Sid! The villian from Toy Story 1. He had a very brief cameo in Toy Story 3 all grown up. I guess Sid really made something of himself in later years!
Here is the Main Plot Line for the New Spiderman 2099!
In the 90's, Marvel ran some stories that took place in the year 2099. One of their most popular comics was Spider-man 2099, of course. So, Marvel has decided to bring the webslinger from the future back for another tour! Only this time, there is quite a plot twist. You see, Spider-man from the future will not be living in the future. The new comic will be set in modern day. The New Spider-man 2099 will actually be a fish out of water story where the Spider-man from the future will come back in time to the present day in order to prevent disasters in the future. Since I love time travel, scifi, and fish out of water stories (Back to the Future is perfect!) I think I will enjoy this one! The question is, once the current Spider-man movies run out of gas, will Sony move over to a Spider-man 2099 movie, and if so, wouldn't it make more financial sense to set it in the present day?
Geeky Bedtime Story Idea: Room Cleaning Musical Instrument
All
kids want to play an instrument. Heck,
they even want to play it fantastically well.
It is the nasty little thing called practice that gets in the way. The kids that like to practice are few and
far between. In fact they are usually
the kids that become good at the instrument.
This new instrument gives you a great reason to play.
Once you
start playing this instrument, nothing happens.
However, once you hit two correct notes in a row, it sends a radio
signal out to everything in your room.
The better you play, the more your room cleans itself. You eventually become the pied piper of
clean up.
Now in
order to get a job as a janitor you can break your back the old fashioned way,
or just become a very good trumpet, piano, or even tuba player.
Brilliant Little Bedtime Conversation Starters
Which instrument would you play?
Which instrument would you want your little brother to play?

So Marvel just opened up an exhibition in Downtown Manhattan. Is it possibly because the Avengers tore through that place while trying to defend it? Just kidding. But seriously, Marvel has just opened this place that houses all of the movie props from one of the coolest superhero movies ever! Go see All of the Avengers outfits in person. Pretty snazzy. My kids would love love love to check this out and would be an absolute must for them on a visit to New York now. Love that it is presented as a S.H.I.E.L.D. outpost and training center rather than a movie prop shop. So cool. See the pics below!

Best Grill Ever! (For Star Wars geeks!)
This is awesome! I think my kids would die if they came out and saw us having a campfire around this.
Earth to Echo movie is a mix between E.T., Super 8, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Just saw the ssecond trailer for this one. How did this one not get on my radar? 6 kids. I would say I am the target market for this, or at least my kids are. I must say, I was shocked with how decent the special effects are in this very Diary of a Wimpy kid type quality movie. I think there is no way this will be E.T. or even as polished as Super 8. But, I do think my kids will love this one. Nice aliens, cool special effects, tweener humor. It has all of the ingrediants. I now have yet another summer movie that I am interested in taking the crew to.
Don't see Maleficent in 3D! Here's why:
There is nothing worse than loading my family up in the minivan (it's a big one) paying 60 bucks (I have 6 kids!) to see the latest and greatest wonder on the big screen in 3D only to find out the 3D is terrible. Well the review is in. Save your money on the 3D version of this one. Sure it gives you more depth of picture, but nothing hardly pops out at you or the kiddos. In essence, the thing that makes 3D fun is absent from this movie. Don't disappoint the kids. Take them to the cheaper screening and buy an extra bucket of popcorn (or 3 in my case:)
What book lovin' Star Wars Fan would not love this?!
Admittedly, Episode One was a bit of a bust. However, I will never forget how filled with wonder I was at the beginning when Qui Gon puts his lightsabre into the door and begins to melt it. Awesome effect. If only the rest of the movie was so cool. (Yes, I know there were some great parts - my younger kids especially still love Episode One). But, who wouldn't love this set of bookends! Very cool. My sons would die for this. Or at least give their sister away for it:)
